Director of Finance

The Director of Shared Services is charged with leading & driving strategy, focusing on employee development and providing customer service, for the Finance Shared Services Organization. The role will be responsible for setting up new teams as well as effectively strengthening the core of the existing teams that are already in place. This role will be directly supported by two Sr. Managers who are responsible for specific segments of the Finance Shared Services processes and will partner closely with the Shared Services Operations team on SLA’s, metrics, transition of processes & QA. The Shared Service function provides a service to majority of the global finance teams and processes including Quote to Cash, Procure to Pay & Record to Report, the current strength of the team is ~45/50 employees with a potential to grow to ~60/70 employees within the next 12 months. Further this role will support processes across the different entities with internal customers around the globe (Americas, EMEA & APAC).

This position will be based out Noida office in India and will report to the Sr. Director of Finance who is responsible for the overall Shared Services delivery model within Finance & is based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts USA. Further, this position will operate during 11:30am IST to 8:30pm IST.

Leadership

  • Partner cross functionally with key stakeholders within and outside of finance
  • Serves as a Finance thought leader and technical resource for the department, guides and influences people, processes, and resources to support the best interests of the business.  Builds trusting relationships with employees and internal customers
  • Responsible for managing all operational elements of recruitment for their local reporting layer (job description, going to market, profile screening etc.) in line with the recruitment strategy
  • Be a role model to the team and continue to instill a strong work ethic culture and professionalism within the Shared Services Team
  • Sponsor, initiate and ensure execution of continuous improvement and/or re-engineering projects to assure progressive service
  • Assist the Sr. Director in communicating the strategy, objectives, results and status of Finance Shared Services programs/initiatives to senior management and key stakeholders

Customer Service

  • Focus on customer service and satisfaction, including partnering with Shared Services Ops team to regularly publish Shared Services performance dashboards with metrics on utilization, efficiency and other key indicators
  • Engage key stakeholders and internal customers to ensure expectations are clearly defined and being met
  • Responsible for providing input to the Global Process Owner to drive efficiencies and process optimization through process standardization and cross training
  • Act as a point of escalation for Global Process Owners and ensure timely remediation of issues
  • Ensure resources, capabilities and capacity to meet both existing and new business demand

Qualifications/Ideal Experience

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in finance / accounting
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in leading a Finance Shared Services captive unit
  • Recent experience within a Technology industry captive unit is a must
  • CA or CPA is required
  • A solid understanding of US GAAP and software revenue recognition rules
  • “Roll up your sleeves” and can-do attitude, energetic, forward-thinking leader with strong ability to multi-task
  • Global mindset with an understanding of the disparities that may exist between countries in terms of the statutory accounting and regulatory frameworks
  • Must have the ability to lead and influence the organization with integrity and respect
  • Superior communication skills (i.e. written, verbal, presentation), leadership, consulting, influence, and negotiation skills. Mastery in English
  • Strong people and customer service skills, advocate positive working relationships among internal and external customers
  • Ability to work varied shifts when needed to match the Shared Services requirements during critical periods of month end close, new transitions or strategic projects
